Our New Car August 17, 2007
Here is a photo of our new car. We bought it a few weeks ago, July 31. After returning from a business trip and my old red car sitting idle for a few days it finally died. We had made a decision that the next thing that went wrong on the Honda – it was time to get a new car. The Honda has close to 200,000 miles on it and lots of problems (including a muffler that was tied onto the car with a zip tie – we did not want to fix it). I have not parted with my Honda yet. I have a very strong emotional attachment to it. My late grandpa bought it for me after I totaled my car. He sold his stamp collection, which he had worked on for his entire life and used some of the money for my car. What an amazing man.
Back to the new car, it is a 2007 Subaru Outback. It is the second “brand new” car I have owned – the last one being the Honda in 1995! And with the new car come my first car payment. Yes I am thirty two and this is the first time in my life that I have had a car payment. So far we are enjoying the new car. Part of why we bought a wagon is so we can take the dog in the car, which has not happened yet. I am afraid to get it dirty I am taking it on a road trip next week with my dear friend Jeni. We are heading up to Boston. It will be nice to travel in a new, clean car!
Hopefully this car will reach 200,000 miles and take our beautiful family everywhere it needs to go!
